Seat configuration
Six seats are fitted as standard in the passenger compartment. The three individual seats in the second row not only fold, they can also be easily removed thanks to quick-release fasteners. The 3-seat bench in the third row folds down and is also easy to remove. This allows you to store up to 4,343 litres of storage space for luggage, bulky goods or leisure equipment. Tinted rear window and rear side windows
For discreet moments on the go
Protects against prying eyes: the darkened rear side windows and the tinted rear window transform the large windows of the passenger compartment into surfaces that are almost opaque from the outside. This way, your passengers can enjoy more privacy – whether it’s a discreet VIP shuttle service or a relaxing ride to a business meeting. At the same time, the striking design of the new Transporter is presented even more effectively – for a confident appearance that impresses both inside and out.
Trailer Hitch
Extra baggage? No problem – tow up to 2.8 tons easily
Ready for big tasks: whether it’s sports equipment for away games, luggage for long distances or equipment for the next event – the new Transporter handles even the most difficult challenges with ease. If its generous storage space is not enough, it can be easily expanded: the optional trailer towing brackets for loads of up to 2.8 t enable quick coupling of a trailer. Choose between a rigid or electrically retractable version – for comfortable handling and even more flexibility.

The optional rigid ball coupling for the new Transporter has a maximum trailer weight of 2.8 t and the trailer stabilisation function offered by Electronic Stability Control.

The optional, electrically retractable ball coupling can be easily unlocked using a switch in the luggage compartment and it extends electrically. It can also be folded away automatically: press the switch again; the device is now released and is electrically retracted.
Sliding doors and tailgate
Easy to get in, easy to load
Comfort begins when you get in: thanks to the extra-wide, standard sliding door on the passenger side (930 mm effective opening width), getting in and out of the new Transporter is even more pleasant for your passengers. A second sliding door on the driver side provides additional flexibility – ideal for quick transfers at the airport or hotel. While the vehicle is moving, the optional vent windows in the sliding doors bring pleasant air to the rear rows – perfect for long distances. And with the electric power closing system it becomes even more comfortable: a slight push into the lock is all it takes for the sliding doors to close gently by themselves.
Loading is also impressive: the standard rear lid provides convenient access to the luggage compartment. It is even more versatile with the optional sideways-opening wing doors with an opening angle of up to 168°, making it easier to approach loading ramps or to load suitcases, sports equipment or other equipment.
And if the next job needs to start immediately? With Keyless Start, your key remains in your pocket – just press a button to start the engine. Even more practical: Keyless Access. This system automatically unlocks the doors and tailgate as soon as you approach the Transporter. If nothing happens, the key may still be on your desk.

The intelligent IQ.Light LED matrix headlights are a real highlight. Not only do they light up the road precisely, they also dip dynamically when driving at night together with the Dynamic Light Assist main-beam control – and proactively follow the course of bends. Keep a (digital) eye on everything: the standard digital cockpit of the new Transporter turns the driver’s compartment into a state-of-the-art control centre. On the high-quality display, measuring more than 30 cm (12 inches) across, you have everything important in view: from the outside temperature and the fuel consumption to the current speed limit. The multifunction steering wheel allows you to conveniently and intuitively adapt the display to your personal preferences.
When combined with the touchscreen for the infotainment system, operation is child’s play. High-quality leatherette feels pleasant to the touch, while the practical buttons allow you direct access to all important functions. You can control the volume, change the radio station, operate the optional navigation system or answer a call – all it takes is a quick tap and your hands remain on the steering wheel. Even the standard version of the Digital Cockpit can be individually adapted in no time at all.
Air conditioning

Sticky heat and burning summer days? This is when it’s even more important that you and your passengers stay relaxed on the road. The new Transporter makes it possible: with the standard air conditioning system, your mobile workplace becomes a feel-good zone in no time at all – regardless of whether you want to cool, heat or get some fresh air. Fast, reliable and with a constant temperature to promote concentration when driving.
The optional, fully automatic two-zone air conditioning system provides even more comfort. The driver and front passenger sides can be individually adjusted – perfect if you both prefer your own comfortable climate. And how is it controlled? Easily, with the help of the central touch display – including several practical, preset climate programs.
And if you have a lot of passengers on board, the three-zone air conditioning system allows passengers in the rear to enjoy their own comfortable temperature. A separate control panel allows you to control the air conditioning system yourself – for comfortable travel, whether on short or long distances.
Keep warm all winter long
The sophisticated heating systems of the new Transporter put an end to icy windows and cold interiors. This keeps it pleasantly warm and cosy even on frosty days. The electric auxiliary heater for diesel vehicles provides extra power and supports the on-board heating as soon as the engine is running. Easy to control using the infotainment system, it ensures fast heating, especially on short trips. The optional auxiliary hot water heating makes things even more comfortable: you can program this in advance or activate it comfortably by remote control. This means you can get into an already pre-heated vehicle – without losing time or having to put up with the cold.
Driver assist systems
Smart helpers bring you to your destination feeling relaxed
The new Transporter can be relied on for hectic rush-hour traffic, winding streets in the city centre or manoeuvring past road works. As an option, it supports you with driver assist systems that make your day-to-day work much easier. The Front Assist automatic emergency braking, the cruise control system with intelligent speed assist and the Lane Assist lane keeping system are always on board as standard. Smart assistants such as the Side Assist lane change system, which can warn you of vehicles in your blind spot, or the adaptive cruise control (ACC), which enables you to drive more comfortably in varying traffic density, provide additional comfort. In this way, you not only handle your daily challenges more confidently, you also reach your destination more refreshed.
Standard Front Assist automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring with swerve support and turn assist
Support in unexpected situations: the automatic emergency braking comes with City Emergency Braking System. Thanks to camera and sensor data, it can detect cyclists and vehicles in the direction of travel and warn the Transporter's driver of possible dangers. In addition, the system can help steer the Transporter around an obstacle. Evasive manoeuvring is supported by a slight steering torque and the steering wheel angle is optimised if necessary. In addition, the technology brakes specific individual wheels in order to keep the vehicle on course.
Standard cruise control system with intelligent speed assist
Maintains your desired speed above 30 km/h depending on whether you are driving uphill or downhill, and the speed limiter can restrict you to your desired maximum speed. It also includes the intelligent speed assistant.
Standard Lane Assist lane keeping system
The assistant can use the front camera for driver assist systems to detect the current lane and countersteer if you stray from the lane at speeds above 60 km/h. At the same time, the system is able to warn the driver at the wheel with an acoustic signal and a visual warning in the Digital Cockpit.
Optional automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, front cross traffic assist and advanced turn assist, swerve support
Support in unexpected situations: the automatic emergency braking comes with City Emergency Braking System. Thanks to camera and sensor data, it can detect cyclists and vehicles in the direction of travel and warn the Transporter’s driver of possible dangers. If the driver does not react in time, the system is able to initiate automatic emergency braking or trigger emergency braking in an emergency.
Optional Side Assist lane keeping and lane change system with exit warning system
This system uses an LED light unit in the appropriate exterior mirror to warn you of vehicles that are approaching from the rear or that are already in your blind spot. When the Transporter is stationary, the exit warning system is able to warn you of cyclists and vehicles when opening the doors.
Kombi Style offers adaptive cruise control with cruise control system and intelligent speed assistant
The system can help the driver to maintain the correct distance and the set speed depending on the vehicle in front. After a brief standstill in a traffic jam or city traffic, the Transporter will automatically move off again. The system can also maintain a set speed, depending on the gradient, at speeds above 30 km/h, or can use the speed limiter to prevent you exceeding your desired maximum speed.
Parking aids
Every inch counts: parking with intelligent help
Overfilled parking spaces at railway stations, manoeuvring in dark hotel garages or reversing in winding old town streets – with the new Transporter you can overcome these challenges with a smile. Thanks to the standard Park Distance Control at the rear and optional additional functions such as the parking aid with manoeuvre braking or the rear view camera system, tricky manoeuvres are child’s play. A special highlight is the 360° Area View, which uses four cameras to provide a bird’s eye view of your vehicle and its surroundings. If necessary, you can control each camera individually to keep a clear view of critical areas – ideal for narrow gaps or blind exits. This allows you to steer the Transporter into challenging parking spaces – confidently and on the first attempt.

Practical manoeuvring aid: four cameras show you curbs, parking markings and obstacles in a 360° view around your Transporter on the infotainment display. By looking from a bird’s eye view, the system also shows you areas that are outside your direct field of view – so you can even see “around the corner”. The rear view camera system can simplify parking and reversing by showing a limited view of the area behind the Transporter on the infotainment system display. Dynamic guidelines indicate the current steering wheel angle to assist with the parking manoeuvre.
