IQ.LIGHT
See and be seen
The IQ.LIGHT matrix LED headlights available with Dynamic Light Assist to light up the road ahead, without dazzling other road users. When turning off the optional 3D-LED tail light clusters with animated turn signal indicate the intended direction with a light movement. The Golf also welcomes you and bids farewell with one of three selectable animations.
Exterior
Sporty appearance
The Golf shows its power through a sporty, dynamic design: The illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front , the striking honeycomb structure of the bumpers, red brake callipers , the roof edge spoiler and the flared sills emphasize its appearance. The diffuser with vertical struts and chrome surround give the vehicle a dynamic appearance.
The iconic golf details such as the blue front trim strip and lettering on the front doors as well as the optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights are special highlights : With these, the blue trim strip extends across the entire front. The Golf becomes even more individual with the optional "Black Style" design package: It includes darkened rear windows, black mirror caps, a black front trim strip (replaces the standard blue Golf trim strip) and black headlight surrounds (only in combination with the optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights). Interior
Lots of space for experiences
The Golf offers you a redesigned, upgraded interior with lots of space and comfort – with comfortable seats (with optional “Vienna” leather, in R-Line and standard in R-Line plus) and plenty of legroom and headroom on all seats.
Thanks to the central 12.9 inch touch display, the latest software generation with intuitive usability, Digital Cockpit Pro and multifunction steering wheel with classic buttons all functions are within reach when on the move.
Thanks to the background lighting available in 10 and 30-colour options, the lighting in the vehicle interior can be adjusted entirely as you wish.
The electric tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof available as an option can be set up, opened and closed just as you wish. It protects against very intense sunlight thanks to tinted glass and an electric sun blind.
Depending on the equipment a two-level height adjustable luggage compartment floor is also available. In the top position it enables a level load area, which closes off flush with the load sill – with an additional stowage compartment under the floor panel. In the bottom position it ensures even more luggage compartment space – with extra space for bigger items or cases.

“Composition” radio
Our Composition starter radio features digital DAB+ reception, Bluetooth mobile phone interface and two USB-C ports with charging capacity of up to 45 W – which you can even charge your laptop with. Selected apps can also be used easily and directly via the 12.9 inch display with App-Connect.
Digital Cockpit Pro
On a high-definition 12.9 inch display, the Digital Cockpit Pro shows you more than just the current speed. It is freely configurable and you decide what information is important to you: for example, the full view of the navigation map, the song title, and much more.

Discover infotainment package
With the Discover infotainment package you can jump in and use the navigation system immediately – with no detours. Speakers front and rear provide you with a better sound experience.
Connect your mobile phone wirelessly via Bluetooth, stream your favourite podcasts and playlists from the Internet and enjoy digital DAB+ reception.
You can even charge your laptop via the USB-C ports with a charging capacity of up to 45 W.

Keyless Access
Easy entry
Leave the key in your pocket – with the optional Keyless Access locking and starting system your Golf opens automatically, as soon as your hand approaches the door handle. A simple touch of a button is also enough to start the engine.

Dynamic Light Assist
Overview of the assist system for improved visibility for the Golf
Dynamic Light Assist
The optional Dynamic Light Assist can prevent other road users from being dazzled by your main beam headlight. The system can detect oncoming vehicles and vehicles ahead and mask them out from your main beam area.
When driving in built-up areas, the system also automatically switches from main beam to dipped beam. This means that you can drive for longer and more often with the main beam on. Streets are thus better illuminated and obstacles can be detected earlier.
In addition, you also benefit from predictive cruise control and cornering assistance – your vehicle can react to upcoming bends and roundabouts and adapt its speed to the current traffic rules. For a more relaxed drive.
ACC
Adaptive Cruise Control ACC (optional from the Life equipment line) can help you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and the distance to the vehicle in front.
Side Assist
The optional Side Assist system helps you to identify potentially dangerous situations when changing lanes: a warning light in the exterior mirror shows you that a vehicle is in your blind spot or is approaching quickly from behind. When using the turn signals, Side Assist automatically analyses the position and speed of the other vehicles – and warns you in good time.

Travel Assist
The optional Travel Assist actively helps you to stay in lane. In addition, it helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and minimum distance to the vehicle in front.
Travel Assist can actively support you when changing lanes on the motorway. To do this, your Volkswagen must be equipped with Park Assist and the Side Assist lane change system.

Park Assit Plus
The optional Park Assist Plus system can tell you not only whether a parking space is big enough as you drive by – it also parks for you. Up to a speed of 40 km/h, it will search for suitable parallel parking spaces – parking bays up to a speed of 20 km/h. Once you have decided on one of the parking spaces found, you can start the parking process. Park Assist Plus takes care of everything for you: steering, accelerator and brakes. All you have to do is monitor the parking process. Park Assist Plus can also drive out of parallel parking spaces again.

Emergency Assist
If, during a journey, you are unable to steer the vehicle due to an impairment or emergency situation, the optional Emergency Assist system can recognise this situation. The system will first attempt to reactivate you. If this is not successful, it will bring your vehicle to a standstill to prevent potential accidents or reduce their severity.
Front Assist
The Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection can warn you of potential accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles and, if necessary, automatically apply the emergency brakes for you.
Exit warning system
The optional exit warning system warns you when opening the door with acoustic and visual signals, in case a cyclist, car or other road users are approaching from behind. The risk of an accident when getting out in busy areas can then be reduced.
Lane Assist
From 65 km/h, Lane Assist can recognise if your vehicle leaves its lane unintentionally. With corrective steering intervention, it focuses your attention back on the driving situation and keeps your vehicle in its lane.
If you nevertheless go over the lane limit, it will also warn you with a vibration in the steering wheel.
